Aleph Alpha Partners with STACKIT to Deliver Sovereign Enterprise AI at Scale with PHARIA AI-as-a-Service

• The partnership brings PhariaAI, Aleph Alpha’s full-stack AI operating system for generative AI use cases, to STACKIT’s highly secure, GDPR-compliant cloud infrastructure, expanding the Schwarz Group’s comprehensive AI portfolio
• It meets the growing demand from enterprises and government institutions for AI solutions that deliver cutting-edge capabilities without compromising data sovereignty or regulatory compliance
• The offering represents an important step in establishing European alternatives to hyperscaler-dominated AI solutions and enables the deployment of sovereign, enterprise-ready AI solutions

Heidelberg/Heilbronn, 26 May 2025 – Aleph Alpha, a leading provider of sovereign AI solutions, today announces a partnership with STACKIT, Schwarz Group’s cloud provider, to deliver PhariaAI-as-a-Service at the TECH conference in Heilbronn, Germany. This collaboration enables organizations to rapidly deploy and scale generative AI solutions based on Aleph Alpha’s PhariaAI with complete control over data, models and deployment options.
The partnership leverages complementary strengths: Aleph Alpha’s PhariaAI offers a flexible, scalable operating system for domain-specific generative AI solutions, incorporating advanced proprietary and open-source models alongside Aleph Alpha’s technological innovations, while STACKIT provides sovereign cloud infrastructure with complete data control and full European regulatory compliance.

Streamlining Enterprise AI Adoption

PhariaAI-as-a-Service lowers adoption barriers for sovereign AI solutions, enabling organizations to leverage Aleph Alpha’s generative AI technology stack to build domain-specific, customizable applications. PhariaAI ensures organizations retain full control over AI model behavior, proprietary data processing and flexible deployment options for trusted and compliant AI applications. The joint offering with STACKIT retains the benefits of PhariaAI while reducing implementation complexity.
Jonas Andrulis, CEO and founder of Aleph Alpha, explains: “With PhariaAI, our customers rely on an AI operating system that combines superior AI strategies with unique innovation. Although PhariaAI allows the flexible choice and combination of infrastructure – in the cloud and in your own data center – a cloud offering is in many cases the best choice for a cost-effective and fast start. With StACKIT and the technology from the Schwarz Group, we have now created a foundation that can meet the highest standards of trust and security.”

Expanding AI Solution Portfolio

By adding PhariaAI to its portfolio, STACKIT expands its offering to include a comprehensive range of AI solutions – from standard open-source models to full-stack solutions like PhariaAI. This enables customers to train, parameterize and enrich models with domain-specific knowledge for their unique use cases and industry-specific requirements.
This collaboration marks a milestone in delivering sovereign, enterprise-grade generative AI across industry verticals and public institutions, hosted entirely on European infrastructure – demonstrating the capabilities of the Schwarz Group’s digital ecosystem.

Bernd Wagner, CEO of STACKIT, adds: “Together with Aleph Alpha, we offer companies a real alternative to non-European AI solutions. With PhariaAI on STACKIT, organizations can implement their individual AI strategies completely confidently on German infrastructure. This expands our existing offering in the field of AI. This partnership underlines Schwarz Digits’ ambition to expand its sovereign cloud STACKIT into a German hyperscaler.”

Improved Performance of Domain-Specific AI

PhariaAI also integrates Aleph Alpha’s latest innovation, the tokenizer-free (T-Free) model architecture, which was introduced in January and now for the first time combines the advantages of some of the best open source models with the specific strengths of adaptability and efficiency. This way, PhariaAI enables the specialization and scaling of sovereign AI strategies orders of magnitude better. A T-Free variant based on Llama already demonstrates superiority for German-language tasks from the administrative context, even compared to alternative models that are ten times larger and more expensive.
